  1. The United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (commonly abbreviated as the CRC or UNCRC) is an international human rights treaty which sets out the civil, political, economic, social, health and cultural rights of children. The Convention requires compliance with child custody and guardianship laws as every child has basic rights, including the right to life, to their own name and identity, to be raised by their parents within a family or cultural grouping, and to have a relationship with both parents, even if they are separated. The Convention also acknowledges that children have the right to express their opinions and to have those opinions heard and acted upon when appropriate, to be protected from abuse or exploitation, and to have their privacy protected. The Convention forbids capital punishment for children.

As of 8 June 2021, 196 countries are parties to the treaty. This includes every member of the United Nations except the United States, the Cook Islands, Niue, the State of Palestine, and the Holy See.

    • The ILO Convention concerning Minimum Age for Admission to Employment C138, is a convention adopted in 1973 by the International Labour Organization. It requires ratifying states to pursue a national policy designed to ensure the effective abolition of child labour and to raise progressively the minimum age for admission to employment or work. Countries are free to specify a minimum age for labour, with a minimum of 15 years. Laws may also permit light work for children aged 13–15 (not harming their health or school work).

As of June 2020 173 countries have signed Convention C138.

Cine nu a semnat? Cine pune copiii sub 15 ani la munca cu acte in regula? Pai Irak, Somalia, Burma, RPDC, Australia si, desigur, SUA.
